"We engaged Todd Frederick and his Team at FM Enterprises to be a part of an owner-commissioned, six-floor project for a new “statement building” in a newer office park in Omaha for C&A Industries, a large, local placement agency. The building had high visibility and would serve as their new corporate headquarters. This project was exciting for us to work on with several thousand eyes on the project daily as it is located on a pivotal commuter road. FM Enterprises delivered well-engineered, high quality structural materials for our team to install. We partnered with Todd and the Team on the eight-floor UNMC Durham Research Tower II project, located on the main campus of now Nebraska Medicine, Omaha’s internationally recognized medical facility. This was a high-profile, privately funded project that also made a statement in Omaha & the international medical research community. Paired to look like Tower I, the metal system manufactured by FM Enterprises was an outstanding choice for the same reasons as C&A. Research Tower I had several leak issues using a different system manufacturer, but Tower II did not have those problems. Todd and Team know how to engineer products for performance & installation. Hawkins Construction, The UNMC Board of Regents and the Durham Foundation were quite pleased with the final structure and low number of issues in this skin system.

Todd Frederick developed a traditional aluminum curtain wall solution that improves the thermal performance of the wall assembly resulting in the interior aluminum surface temperatures adjacent to glass at ASHRAE winter design temperatures of -16°F for Minnesota are an astounding 10°F to 15°F higher than any previous high-performance curtain wall systems. They find their systems can save 5% to 7% more per year in cold climate mechanical costs while eliminating condensation and 20% to 25% or more per year in hot climate mechanical costs. The u values and CRF values are unbelievably exceptional. "I had to mention this to you all because you have an interest in maximizing performance of exterior curtainwall enclosures and, as involved with curtainwall as I have been over the past 35 years, | have never seen such reliable, simply attained performance that is so necessary for high performance in our buildings, particularly in trying to meet 2030 Guidelines for overall building performance. We happen to be utilizing it for both curtainwall and punched windows, and for any existing building, there is the capability to retrofit existing aluminum pressure wall framing for this type of performance."
